Cairns Crematorium Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens

I would not recommend this funeral home on the basis of several issues. When we arrived on the day of our mums funeral we immediately noticed that the wrong main photograph was displayed above the entrance door. While the photo slide was showing, not all of the photos we supplied were shown. The main photo that should have been above the entrance door was not even shown! There were 4 songs chosen for the ceremony ; an entry song, 2 songs whilst the photo slide was showing and an exit song. The 2nd photo slide song was cut off once the photos had finished, we were told this would play to the end. The exit song was so high pitched and sounded absolutely awful! I don't know how they made it sound so bad. I can't listen to it now without getting upset and angry! Once the funeral had finished at around 2pm ,the funeral director came up to my sister and I and stated that he was very sorry but wouldn't be able to cremate our mum that day as it was too late, and that it would be Friday before it could be done. The funeral was Wednesday, so 2 days later!! I understand this can happen due to the time the cremation process takes but this was not made transparent during our initial meeting. We had ordered a total of 7 keepsakes/urns that had been already ordered and payed for prior to the funeral. We then received a phone call to say that they were ready for collection, all 5 of them. Basically there were 2 missing from the order which we then had to wait for another 4 days before they could be collected!! The final straw was when we received an email from the funeral home saying how they were honoured to have been able to assist us on such a sad occasion. They inserted a different persons name instead of our mums and this was mentioned 3 times throughout the email only compounding the damage even more. This particular person had her funeral 2 weeks after my mums but the email was addressed to us but without our mums name and someone else's instead! The people seemed very nice at the time but in this profession there should be 110% attention to detail and compassion as its the last tribute we can pay to our loved ones.

Dedicated caring people who made our mums service simply pleasant. Tama is a very caring passionate man and Shiane a lovely caring receptionist. They both offered generously extra help, kind words and extra care during a very difficult time and went the extra mile without hesitation. I thank and appreciate you both ever so much.

The team at Cairns Crematorium gave our family the most heartfelt personal approach for my beloved husband & father of my dear 3 children. I cannot praise them enough. From the collection of our loved one to the day of the funeral and then the final moments of collecting our loved ones ashes, they had full empathy and were heartfelt and supportive all the way. Thank you Tama & Team, you made the whole day seem seamless, with all family and guests commenting on the beautiful service. So thank you.

The staff here are genuinely caring and take a lot of time to make sure your needs are met. My family and I were pleased with their service package that included the wonderful celebrant Jan Defferrard. Jan visited us at home and liased with the crematorium's dedicated and sensitive team. Our heartfelt gratitude to you all.

Thank you to all the staff here. From our first phone call we felt supported and heard. Jeff our funeral director was kind, heartfelt, professional and efficient. He went above and beyond for us to ensure our loved one was looked after and our needs were met. All communication was really clear and the website price guide was easy to navigate. The grounds are very clean and well maintained with beautiful views to Mt Sheridan. Could not recommend more highly. Thank you guys.

I wish to thank Cairns Crematorium for there service. We had our beautiful mothers ashes placed into urns and pendants for the family. They were very accommodating, efficient and very pleasant to deal with. A big thank you to Shian for her excellent service and compassion during this difficult time.
