Cost Less Cremations - Melbourne Cremation Services
About the company
Cost Less Cremations specialises in direct, unattended cremation, allowing families to say goodbye without a traditional funeral service and without needing to deal with a funeral director. Cremations are carried out at Lake Mulwala, and cremated remains are returned to families anywhere in Australia via registered mail.
Many families choose to hold a memorial service at a later date and location, once the cremation has taken place.
What customers say
Based on genuine customer reviews
Cost Less Cremations arranges simple, unattended cremations for families in Melbourne, working from the same Cheltenham office as Kingston Funerals. Reviewers, including one whose father had planned and pre-paid his own cremation before he died, describe collection from hospitals and hospices handled promptly and communication kept up by phone and email throughout.
Families are offered a choice of urns and keepsakes such as a memorial necklace once ashes are ready. Staff member Debbie is named for responding to queries even outside standard hours.

At a very sad time for us, Cost Less Cremations, showed a caring attitude from our first contact and were very responsive/timely even when I contacted them early on a Sunday. They treated our loved one with the utmost respect and us with understanding, and I am extremely appreciative of that. They were very professional with excellent communication across email, phone and in person (Special thanks to Debbie, throughout the process!). Cost effective for the simple cremation service our family wanted. I would highly recommend them to others.

I can't speak highly enough of Cost Less Cremations. The staff were very helpful and prompt with their response to any questions that arose and were respectful and compassionate in their customer service. I was able to choose a lovely urn and necklace for mum's ashes and there were so many and varied options to choose from. Don't be fooled by the name.....Cost Less Cremations offers a service above and beyond what my expectations were. Mum was back with our family very promptly which was comforting. Would recommend for sure. Michelle
I was very pleased with the staff there they were very kind and helpful especially filling out the form thank you
Easy to navigate, responsive, quick. Only issue I had was that there was a glitch in the computer system and it didn't send through the application for death certificate so I needed to follow that up. Cost less cremations responded immediately and was sorted and sent within a couple of days.
