Merritt Funeral Services

Merritt Funeral Services is a family owned and operated funeral director business based in Shepparton. The business is led by Garry Merritt, who is the owner and director, and Jody Merritt is also part of the business. The team has over 40 years of combined experience. Merritt Funeral Services services Shepparton, Mooroopna and surrounding areas. The business offers a full suite of funeral services, from traditional burials to contemporary celebrations of life.

Merritt Funeral Services is remembered by families around Shepparton for the compassion and care shown through some of their hardest days, with Garry, Wendy, Jodie and Sharon named repeatedly for the support, kindness and guidance they offered. Reviewers describe funerals arranged for parents, grandparents and, in one instance, a son, and note that arrangements were made manageable despite pandemic restrictions, with helpful suggestions and ready contact in the lead-up.

Several mention how difficulties were resolved and the attention given on the day, from a service carried out with respect and dignity to seating that allowed everyone to be present in a generously sized chapel, so nobody was left waiting outside. A recurring theme is the reassurance provided by staff including Butch and the celebrant, and the freedom given to families to take part as much as they wished when creating a tribute. Fair value, no pressure to purchase extras and convenient on-site parking also feature in accounts. Clients repeatedly mention that nothing was too much trouble and that the kindness shown will not be forgotten.
