About the company

Remembrance Parks Central Victoria (RPCV) was formed in June 1988 as an amalgamation of several former Council operated cemeteries. It is established as a Class A Cemetery Trust, regulated under the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003 (Vic) and accountable to the Department of Health, and operates as a not-for-profit organisation that reinvests surpluses into its remembrance parks.

RPCV operates remembrance parks across 11 locations in Central Victoria, encompassing Axedale, Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Emu Creek, Kangaroo Flat and White Hills cemeteries in the Bendigo region, and also manages the Axedale Catholic, Heathcote and Sunbury cemeteries. Its crematorium officially opened in 1989. RPCV provides burial, cremation and memorialisation services, and holds burial archives dating back to the 1800s.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Cemetery and cremation services at Remembrance Parks Central Victoria in Bendigo are assessed by reviewers as a mixture of deeply valued care and recurring frustration with management and administration. Several families describe burials and cremations that were handled with consideration, and the availability of a chapel, grounds and reception space in one location is repeatedly appreciated, particularly when relatives travel long distances. Sally is named by a reviewer as accommodating and caring when assisting with arrangements, and staff on the day of a service are often described as friendly and helpful.

A theme that comes up often is difficulty reaching the organisation: multiple enquiries by email and phone reportedly went unanswered over extended periods, and a visit to the administration office was met with a curt response rather than assistance. Other complaints concern grave ornamentation, with families objecting to instructions to remove decorations, lights and coloured items from loved ones' plots. Reviewers also query the rules applied to graves when large sums have been paid for burial, describing the experience as upsetting during an already difficult time.

My husband was laid to rest there yesterday and everything was just wonderful. So good to have chapel, grounds and reception all in one place especially when many travelled from so far. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Revolting organisation. Who removes items like a ceramic dolphin from a teenagers grave? What kind of people would ban trinkets from loved ones graves and then request employees throw them in the bin for grieving relatives to find? Literal grave robbers.

RPCV would have to be the worst organisation I have ever dealt with! At the present point in time they are demanding that families remove ornaments, lights etc from our loved ones graves because it is apparently against their rules. Absolute shame on them. We pay a small fortune to bury our loved ones at their cemeteries and we are not allowed to adorn our loved ones graves anymore? I've never seen a problem. Speaking of paying a small fortune, you would think that they would actually maintain the cemeteries but again that's too hard. For the last 6 years my family has been complaining to RPCV about the state of the graves, many of which have massive sink holes hidden in long overgrown grass. I have fallen over on 3 separate occasions and reported this and absolutely nothing has been done! My mother and aunt have mobility issues and can no longer visit the grave of our loved ones due to the state of the graves. Myself and my family have complained on numerous occasions about this and NEVER receive a response. Most recently I complained yet again about this issue and was told it was due to all the rain in October 2022... pretty poor response considering we have been complaining for many years now with no adequate response or action. All this does is cause more heartache for the family left behind! Please take care of the grounds and our loved ones resting places before someone seriously injures themselves. Please note that these photos are taken on 3 seperate days 1 month apart! Nothing ever changes!!!
