In a word, outstanding. Ruth and her team were exceptional in all facets of Mum's funeral. We were able to give her a dignified farewell that was done in the most professional manner. I have no hesitation in recommending Tobin Brothers.

If I could give it zero stars I would. I went with family to plan the funeral of my brother in law and spoke with Julie the manager in Ballarat. Three times I was insulted by her, rudely, callously and inconsiderately until I had to leave the room. The rest of the family planned this without my input and we kept to those plans. I, however, opted not to attend, missing the whole funeral due to the poor treatment by the staff. I am staying home alone and it has divided this family at the worst possible time. I would not recommend this funeral home for anyone. It's been the worst experience of my life. Edit....due to the request of my children I did attend however I refused to speak. I did my poem i wrote at the graveside service we booked at a later date. The only thing I add is that political opinions about another country or their leader should never come up at a funeral planning. It was inappropriate and uncalled for. Just because a person has an accent does not mean the traditions of their country of origin or the leaders of that country need to be used to silence that person. I was there as part of the family and to be told my opinions did not matter was appalling behavior.

Paula Forbes, our funeral director, was the most professional, compassionate, understanding and respectful person to deal with. She made the passing of our daughter manageable and a little less stressful because of her naturally caring and patient attitude. Organising a funeral straight after such a sudden loss was overwhelming. Our anxiety levels were at their highest but Paula helped so much to make the experience go as smoothly as possible. She made sure we were comfortable with everything and explained the process in a way we could understand. I cannot praise her highly enough, she went above and beyond for us and by the end, she was like family. All of the above also applies to our wonderful celebrant Jo Krause. Paula & Jo, we honestly can’t thank you enough for the care we received from you both and we would recommend Tobins above any other to care for our loved one.

I recently had the difficult task of organizing my father's funeral with Peter Tobin Funerals, and I cannot recommend their services and particularly our funeral director, Paula highly enough. ​I was originally beyond intimidated by the entire process, as I had never done this before. Paula was a godsend. She supported me with profound empathy and competence every step of the way, transforming an overwhelming experience into something manageable. On the day of the funeral, when my own thinking had understandably ceased to function effectively, Paula was right there, helping me with the practicalities and ensuring everything ran perfectly. The funeral itself was simply perfect, exactly what my dad deserved. ​I hope I never need to organize another funeral, but if I do, I would not hesitate for a second to return to Peter Tobin's and ask for Paula’s help again. I am eternally grateful to Paula and Peter Tobin Funerals Ballarat for making such a painful time easier and ensuring we gave my father the beautiful farewell he deserved.

My partner died recently and Peter Tobin Funerals in Ballarat handled both his committal and his memorial services. Everything was done so professionally and every detail attended to with care.
