Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance

Very well maintained, and the staff are just lovely. We had a family member cremated and could pick up the ashes the next day. When we returned for the ashes, we sat in the fountain garden area; it was very peaceful.

My Dad and Mum, 1st Husband and a few friends are laid to rest at the Toowoomba Garden of Rememberence. The grounds are always kept so beautifully and is so peaceful.

While attending where my father's ashes have been laid to rest, unbeknown to any of our family, one of the staff members has removed a vase that was permanently placed there to hold flowers. Long story but the short of it is, they're lazy. Paid for our surname to be printed on a plaque, waited 6 months, had to follow up 3 times. They finally came back to us when the surname on the plaque had been completed but it would take them another 8-10 weeks to glue it to the headstone. After a heated phone call it was done wishing 3 days. Just not good enough. Absolute circus run by people that have NFI!

These gardens are so beautiful and just had such a peaceful vibe to it. We were looking to get our mum a plaque here after she was cremated. As we got the call to collect her, we walked into our appointment and were literally looked up and down and judged from the second we walked in. We had an appointment booked to receive a tour of the gardens to see a few spots for a plaque but were just told to ‘go have a look around’ and didn’t even get the tour, even it being acknowledged when we first arrived. I found the staff to be judgemental, rude, and no sense of care whatsoever. Normally I would just brush it off but when you’re dealing with a sensitive issue and grieving families, a little smile and some sympathy goes a long way. We decided very quickly that it’s not a place where we would feel comfortable coming to pay respects to our mum. Please do better. Don’t judge a book by its cover and be more friendly. You’re working in a sensitive sector where a little bit of kindness goes a long way.

My parents are both at rest in the Garden of Remembrance, Toowoomba. My Mum's ashes were interred earlier this year & we recently celebrated the 1st Anniversary of her death on 26 May. Throughout my emotional journey & decision making process in regards to my Mum & her ashes, I was fully supported both practically & emotionally by Deborah Thompson (Garden of Remembrance Office/Admin staff member). Deb was the warm, understanding voice on the other end of the phone. Deb went above & beyond to assist & minimise my stress. I really appreciated her time, kindness & her thoughtful attention to detail. Thank you so much Deb - you made such a difference!

A great place for the internment of both parents' ashes. The staff are very courteous and helpful.
