About the company

The chapel is air conditioned and has fully integrated audio visual equipment and CD facilities. External video viewing is available for large services. The business is associated with Norwood Park. Maranatha Lawn Cemetery was established in 1977 within the grounds of the original Bathurst Monumental Cemetery.

The lawn cemetery includes single depth graves in Sections 1, 2 and 3, and double depth graves in Sections 4 and 5. Rose Gardens within Section 1 are used for the placement of ashes. Niche Walls are available for the placement of ashes. The Eagle Nest Memorial Garden is used for the placement of ashes. The Birrallee Baby Section has a gazebo in the centre for parents to sit in a peaceful environment.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Cremation services at Bathurst Crematorium sit within cemetery grounds that families describe as calm, peaceful and well treed, with historic graves and a duck lagoon completing the setting. A number of reviews mention that the grounds are neatly maintained and that parking is arranged around the building, a practical detail noted by visitors paying their respects. Through the Norwood Park office, Rebecca is named for her professional manner, her organisation and the genuine compassion she showed while arranging a father's funeral details and the memorial plaque that followed.

A theme running through the feedback is how the crematorium managed a difficult farewell for a mother when an incompetent funeral director had been involved, with staff handling the situation with care. The upkeep of the cemetery, the attentiveness of those working there and the support given during funeral arrangements feature in what relatives describe, and Rebecca's assistance is remembered as making a real difference at a demanding time. Families also mention the memorial plaque service and the continuing care of the graves.

A really well kept cemetary, that my son and I visited last week My great grandfather and his wife are resting there, along with other relatives. The cemetary is calm, peaceful and nicely treed with many historic graves. A duck lagoon completes the idyllic setting. Thank you Bathurst, well done.

The crematorium recently had to deal with an absolutely incompetent funeral director for our mother's farewell but Norwood Park made the best of a bad situation. Thanks.
