4.8 / 5 · 74 totalAbsolutely disgraceful and disrespectful efforts to have the livestream not work for people in Australia and around the world who had gathered and some even got up early to watch the funeral live but they linked it with another passed person but we couldn’t see this issue until we got home after the wake and and English gentleman said he found it with another profile. This is not what any family should have to deal with while laying their loved one to rest, this crematorium said they would deal with everything and they have failed both families by crossing the livestream to another family’s loved one. When asked, three days later on a Monday, the crematorium just said “shit happens” it’s fixed now. No ownership that there was a massive communication issue on the day, friends and family were calling throughout. Very disappointed with the lack of respect for the amount of money you pay, nothing like what they advertised on their website either. Gentler way was meant to be a cheaper option yet it cost more than any amount advertised on the website and it was super frustrating when the family is grieving and just happy to get the funeral organised. I felt they said everything the family wanted to hear, being able to hold it at a date more suited after a “sweet talking“ to the boss and then the “special poem” probably the same as most peoples poems but with the personalised drink, past time and loved quirk added in from the questions asked at the first interview. Invoice thrown towards the grieving family for a signature two seconds after announcing the cost and bang!! Jobs done, very disappointed to watch from an independent perspective but the family needed it done and were probably swept up with emotions. Be careful who you trust and deal with as these are precious moments you can not get back
From the very beginning, Kylie and the team stood out in a way that we will never forget. My dad had walked into two other funeral homes before this, and while I understand this is a service and a business, those experiences felt cold, clinical, and transactional at a time when our world had just fallen apart. When he met Kylie, she spoke with kindness, warmth, and genuine care. She explained things gently, never clinically, and spoke about the process in a way that honoured my brother as a person, not a procedure. When she explained the gentle water cremation, my dad found it incredibly beautiful - and it brought him a sense of peace during a moment where there was very little of it. From that point on, Kylie and the entire team showed nothing but compassion to our whole family. They were accommodating beyond words. Due to hospital and police processes, we weren’t able to see my brother until he was released to a funeral home - and Kylie went out of her way to bring the date forward so that we could see him sooner. They also allowed our family dog to come along to see him again and to attend the funeral. Those gestures alone mean more to us than we can properly express. In passing, I mentioned that my brother loved Iron Man. They included the most thoughtful, subtle touch from one of those movies - something so personal and so beautiful and something I would never even thought of. The service itself was as lovely as it can be. Kylie’s poem, the slideshow, the care taken with every detail - it was all done with such heart. On a day that felt impossible to get through, everything ran smoothly, calmly, and with dignity. This cannot be an easy job, but at no point did we feel like just another booking. We felt genuinely cared for, supported, and understood. We are so deeply grateful to Kylie and the team for making the most heartbreaking day of our lives a little gentler. We could not recommend them more highly, and we will forever be thankful for the care they showed our family.
A lovely team of people who met my needs at this time. Very helpful guiding me through the required steps. Made the process problem free. Cant thank Robin, Michelle, Natalie and Kylie enough for their support.
This company is amazing. Since Robin Drury has taken over the professionalism has increased 500% After our last funeral with this company I was reluctant to use them again until a friend mentioned that there was a new owner. This will now be our funeral company of choice. Siaatasi
If I could give 20 stars, I absolutely would! 🌟 I want to sincerely congratulate the new owner of Townsville Cremations for the truly exceptional, compassionate, and professional funeral service provided for my daughter. From beginning to end, everything was handled with care, warmth, and genuine respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the compassion and dignity shown to my wife and me were simply beyond belief. We had used this company in the past and, to be honest, found the experience only average — so we were a little hesitant to return. However, during a visit to Brisbane for another funeral, I happened to speak with a funeral director who told me that a good friend of his, Robin Drury, had recently purchased Townsville Cremations. He said, “If I ever had the choice, I’d want Robin to handle my own funeral.” After witnessing the outstanding service Robin and his team provided, I can say without hesitation — he was absolutely right. Every detail was handled flawlessly, and the kindness shown to our family turned one of life’s hardest moments into something deeply respectful and comforting. Thank you, Robin, and the entire Townsville Cremations team — you have restored our faith and set a new standard of excellence. Ashley
Everyone at Townsville Funerals — Kylie, Natalie, and Beau — showed the utmost professionalism, care, and compassion. We were guided with thoughtful options and kind words of support throughout. In such a difficult time, every detail was handled with grace and precision, both at the funeral and the reception. Kylie, as celebrant, was truly exceptional. There is nothing we could have wished for that was not already provided. Thankyou
Just lovely service from all staff, and so helpful, supportive and understanding. Nothing was too hard or a problem. Plus we chose them for the low emission greener cremation option that uses water instead of fire. Mum never liked the idea of cremation. That meant a lot to us. AND they organise for two trees to be planted for reforestation of the Daintree rainforest. As a family that has loved nature and camping and boating all our lives this struck a chord. We loved this so much we purchased an extra 88 trees through the reforestation company and you can even go and participate planting. Highly recommend this business!
