What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Families in Wellington recount markedly different experiences with this funeral director, and the treatment of grieving relatives runs through nearly every account. Praise centres on David and Lilian, whose care, warmth and dignity are named repeatedly, both when the deceased is collected and during the final arrangements. One family whose relative died interstate and was returned to the district for burial notes that they were kept informed at each stage and regards the cost as fair and reasonable, particularly given the funeral followed a wedding by only a few weeks; David and his staff are described as considerate towards all family members and the ceremony as a fitting farewell.

Other accounts are equally direct in their criticism, with one family stating that their mother's body was withheld until professional fees were settled upfront despite a collection already being arranged, and another describing staff as rude and unwelcoming while planning a funeral for a community elder. Communication and the handling of fees emerge as the matters that most shape how families judge the business, whether the memories are warm or painful.

A fantastic business and professional service. My aunty passed away interstate, and she was brought home to Wellington to be laid to rest. We were informed and kept up to date with each part of the process. The price for the everything was fair and reasonable, noting we had only had her wedding three and half weeks earlier, this was not an expected. David and his staff were very considerate of all family members. The service was a lovely send off. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

"We feel incredibly blessed to have David and Lilian here in our Wellington community. Losing our dear Dad was a heartbreaking time, but having people we know and trust to guide us made all the difference. From the moment they picked Dad up to the final details of the service, David and Lilian handled everything with such genuine care, dignity, and warmth. They go above and beyond to make a difficult process feel personal and seamless, attending to every little detail so the family can focus on grieving and remembering. In a small town, you hope for supporters who treat you like family, and that is exactly what they did for us. They made us feel truly special and supported during a very sad time. We cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and their friendship."

The funeral home is refusing to release our mothers body to us until we have made an upfront payment for professional fees to them even though we had arranged for the body to picked up yesterday

Extremely rude and racist , acted like we were an inconvenience to them trying to arrange a funeral for our beloved aunty who was an elder in the community.
