After 15 months of my Mother passing, White Lady Funerals send her things back to me in the mail (the small items I gave them to prepare my Mother for cremation that they promised to deliver within a few weeks). They even had the audacity to include a message thanking us for 'trusting' them with the process.....re-living the trauma over and over. Review: Truly appalled. My Mother's only wish was for her passing to be handled with dignity and the least amount of stress for her family - and so she (strongly) insisted on White Lady Funerals. Once they got their contract signed and invoice paid, we haven't heard from them again. No information on the death certificate that was promised and they didn't even confirm with us that the cremation had occurred - we had to call the Crematorium for the information directly. We missed the opportunity to be there and they haven't returned calls or messages left asking for updates - nothing. We did get several emails and texts though asking if there were any additional services they could offer us and to thank us for trusting them with the services!! They charge significantly more than anyone else and yet only care about the money. No service provided at all. They are no better than a cookie cutter franchise chasing the highest price they can. They have made a really difficult time in our lives even worse. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.
A heartfelt thank you to Sophie from White Lady Funerals for the incredible care and compassion she showed our family while arranging my beautiful Nan Pam’s farewell. Our family can be quite large and complicated at times but Sophie handled everything with such professionalism, patience and grace. She made every person feel heard, supported and cared for while ensuring Nan was treated with the utmost dignity and respect throughout the entire process. Nothing was ever too much trouble and her calm, caring nature helped ease so much of the stress during an incredibly emotional time. Sophie went above and beyond to make sure Nan’s service was beautiful and truly reflected the wonderful person she was. We will always be grateful for the kindness, compassion and support Sophie showed our family. She is an absolute asset to White Lady Funerals. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our Nan Pam. 🤍
Some of the nicest funeral staff in Canberra. They handle the last minute foibles of event coordination in a helpful and respectful manner
They handled my Aunty's funeral so lovely. They thought of everything, including little bottles of water and little packets of tissues
Would give zero stars if I could. Never received a call back. I did call them a 2nd time and still heard nothing back from them. Waited 2 days in such a hard and sad time in my life. I recommend Simple Goodbyes. They were amazing, helped me every step of the way, and more than half the price of this place.
My experience of White Lady Funerals Belconnen wasn't as promised. They did not provide "support every step of the funeral planning", nor did they "take care of the details". Don't get me wrong, on the day of the funeral the two White Lady staff were efficient, unobtrusive and helpful. They did their jobs well. But, the week before the funeral was made more stressful by poor communication and lax attention to detail. We thought that White Lady would co-ordinate everything and keep us informed, but they didn't. The draft funeral notice was sent close to the printing deadline, not the day before as promised. It was wrong, missing the funeral time & relatives names. Despite being given the corrections it was still issued with the relative's names missing. I spoke to White Lady Funerals a week after the funeral to provide feedback on the negative experience. They said the least they could do was refund the cost of the incorrect funeral notice. Two weeks later I had to chase them, only to be told they couldn't find the right pot of money for the refund, so they couldn't do it. How can a business offer a refund, then renege on it? They then said would you like us to reprint the funeral notice, 2 weeks after the funeral?? The solution was getting worse. Six weeks on from first contacting White Lady about my Aunt's funeral I'm still waiting for the promised refund. I've made multiple calls and sent multiple emails. Not much communication from White Lady and no action. It's the same feeling I had the week leading up to my Aunt's funeral...I'm not sure what's happening and I'm obviously a low priority. The Ladies on the day were good but the company seems to lack the integrity and accountability I expected beyond the funeral service. Upon telling friends of my experience, they think it's outrageous that a correct funeral notice was not issued, and that I needed to chase up detail as my White Lady was busy on "back-to-back" appointments. It made my family feel that our small and simple funeral was not given the same priority as a bigger ceremony. Another person, having heard my recounting said, "they failed the core principals of funeral support" especially at a time which is pretty low in a family's life. I'd be wary of choosing White Lady funerals as they don't really provide the care and guidance they tout.
My Husband passed away in June, his service was through White Lady's on 8th of July. His girlfriend was their client, so under her instruction, my 10 and 14 year old children and I were denied our final goodbyes as the director refused us entry to the viewing. Imagine not being able to say goodbye to your father and the lasting impact that places on a 10 year old. I was told by the director I was welcome to call the police to the service for them to sort out. As if any decent person would call police to a funeral! To compound this frankly morally corrupt behaviour when his girlfriend wilfully misspelled my name on the death certificate white lady's refused to correct it. Despite the death certificate being a legal document and them being notified about the error immediately upon the certificate being recieved. Seems they only care about who is funding their services and not the wishes of the deceased, their family or legalities.
