They gave us gentle advice and assistance at the worst time of our life and at no point pushed us to use them, they just offered support and left us to decide. As soon as we needed to make decisions it was a simple choice. Michelle, Jodie, Jo & Alicia have all been so lovely and kind and supportive and talked us through everything. Mum lived her whole life in the Bay and it was fitting that she have her final farewell there.We are forever grateful for their kindness.
We have entrusted Glenelg Funerals with four family funerals, and each time they have gone above and beyond. They make an incredibly difficult process feel smooth and supported, and words truly can’t express how grateful we are for their care and compassion.
Recently lost our 92 year old Mum .Mum had decided to go for a prepaid funeral as she didn’t want to make extra work for any of her 3 children unfortunately our experience did not meet our expectations. My wife Carol contacted the funeral home to see what paperwork was required and was promptly informed that we would have to pay an extra $ 250 because my mum had a hunched back and even though she was around 5ft 2 inches tall and weighed only 45 kilograms she was never considered to have a hunched back by her doctors. Secondly my wife was informed that there is a $ 400 extra cost because they collected mum at 6.15 on a Friday afternoon. Then one more additional cost of $ 200 for an administration fee plus another $ 85 for GST . A total of $ 945 plus GST for extras on top of the prepayment which has been earning interest for several years . We were also offered the use of the Chapel for $ 400 an hour . My mum obviously didn’t read the fine print before paying for her funeral we feel that Glenelg Funerals PTY LTD may have not acted in the best interest of our Mum God Bless her .
Did a great job with my Dad’s funeral 10 years ago and again with Mum’s a few weeks ago. Compassionate, respectful, supportive and professional service, good options, happy and anble to anccomodate our preferences and competitive prices. Will be recommending to friends and, while I hope I won’t need to for a long time, will be my first port of cal if I need funeral services again. Thank you
Myself and brother, Craig, are very grateful to Glenelg Funerals for the care shown to my mother Pam, who was buried yesterday. My family approached Gleneleg Funerals to direct and manage the funeral and cremation of the matriach of our family, Mum. We had a problem of extremely limited time frame, due to this being the only time in 12 years that the family was all together. They achieved this, working with diverse siblings, an external church, external musicians and opera singer, and even on the day of the funeral a Guard of Honour was added to their load, without any pre warning. Excellence shone out in everyway. They gave us the perfect funeral for my mother. Everyone commented on their excellence, and how wonderful the funeral was. I wish to thank all the staff at Glenelg Funerals, all of the external groups they work with that brought this about in such a timely manner. Thank you. You showed your skills for my father who died in the 2nd covid lockdown, and now my mother. Thank you.
My Mum and Dad chose Glenelg Funerals to provide a fitting memorial service and burial for my late Nanna who passed away this May aged 97. Their chapel on Brighton Road was small and intimate and quiet- suiting our needs perfectly. Everything was taken care of with patience and respect. Our entire family and friends were very happy with the service we received and I can’t thank Lisa and staff enough for being so patient and caring and showing genuine compassion every step of the way… We were very grateful that traditional values and compassion were shown to us and they were very helpful to my parents helping to take some of the stress out of a stressful time for them….
